Synopsis:
A boy washes up on the beach of a quiet seaside town, soaked, shaken, and wearing nothing but pyjamas. He insists he’s from here, but the whole place feels… not quite right.
Then he meets David, a stranger who offers to help. What begins as an act of kindness soon becomes something far deeper. Questions multiply, and a chain of events set in motion centuries ago tightens its grip on the present.
Drawn into a secretive world of hidden histories and dangerous foes, David gathers an unlikely band of allies to uncover the truth and get their new friend back elsewhere. But some doors were never meant to open, and when they do, reality itself begins to unravel.
The Boy From Elsewhere is a gripping story of parallel worlds, found family, and the terrifying courage it takes to hold on to the people you love when the universe itself is trying to pull you apart.
Lyrically written, The Boy From Elsewhere offers prospective readers a gripping story full of heart and gripping genre blend, both coming of age and science fiction. I always enjoy reading emotionally driven stories and this one , with its fast-paced and adventurous storytelling, gives you the human connection that readers might be looking for. Gaian creates characters that readers will have no problem connecting with, particularly with David and his quest to discover himself after his father’s death. The importance of the themes of found family and being true to yourself will be an fascinating combination for readers to encounter. Although the science fiction genre is not my favorite to read, that doesn’t mean reading this genre blend was interesting to encounter. I believe that readers who are looking for something adventurous that is packed with hope and emotion will enjoy this quick read. The Boy From Elsewhere is an immersive debut and strong start to what could be an interesting series.
