New Yorkers came together to take part in the vote of the One Book, One New York campaign, an event where New Yorkers choose which book they want the entire city to read. The votes have been tallied and the results are in!

And the winner is…

Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan

Anna Kerrigan, nearly twelve years old, accompanies her father to visit Dexter Styles, a man who, she gleans, is crucial to the survival of her father and her family. She is mesmerized by the sea beyond the house and by some charged mystery between the two men.

Jennifer Egan will appear at the Vulture Festival on May 19 to discuss the novel New York editor-in-chief, Adam Moss. Events will soon be held at libraries and bookstores across the city.
