March On

Our voices were heard
Our purpose was fought
Pitchforks clenched in our hands
Taking a large stab at injustice along the way

The Mall usually paved red, white and blue
Pink looks good on the city streets
The big Palace stands strong and defiant one day
Quivers at out feet the very next

Hate scattered our paths
Remnants of a despicable coming to light
But our feet prove we’ll not be shackled
Knowledge takes a stand against ignorance

“What do they want?”
“Just accept it.”
There is no acceptance of misogyny and hate
They try to take away our hope
But we march on
Our desire will survive
Don’t give up
Never surrender
Our fight must go on

I was born and raised in New York. I still live in New York but kind of sick of the city and one day I wish to move to the UK.I have a Masters degree in Library Science and I currently work in a special collections library. I loved books ever since I was a little girl. Through the hard times in my life, my love for books has always gotten me through. Just entering another world different from my own intrigues me. As long as I am entering in another universe, I like to create my own as well. I love to write and hopefully I will be able to complete a novel.
