Like other book events this year, the ceremony for the 2020 British Book Awards was moved online and today they released the winners of the literary award. And what an impressive list winners they are!
This past week, the YA Book Prize announced the 2020 shortlist for the prize. The book prize, launched in 2014, awards a YA title written by an author living in the UK or Ireland. The prize is also run by the book trad magazine, The Bookseller, in partnership with the Hay Festival.
The Man Booker International Prize has just announced the 13 books that have been longlisted for the prestigious prize. The prize gives recognition to literary works that were translated to English and publish in the UK. It is different from its equivalent, the Man Booker Prize, where that award recognizes books originally written in English and published in the UK. The award comes with a cash prize of £50,000 ($71,000) that split equally between the author and the translator.
The winner will be announced on May 21 at a ceremony held at a dinner at the Roundhouse in London.
The longlist for the 2019 Women’s Prize for Fiction was announced today. This year’s longlist contains books that are from both new and well-established authors that span from a range of genres, including seven debut novels.
