As I have mentioned in my previous post, I am on a book committee this year that is in the process of selecting the best YA books of the year for teens, a genre I am not a big fan of. However, as I am reading through these books, I am learning more about my reading tastes. It is not the general YA genre I have a distaste for, it is YA books published by US authors. Let’s celebrate another year of reading!
Another long year has gone, but 2017 may be full of strife and hardship, at least we had a lot of great books to keep us sane through this hectic time. This year, more than ever, was where the importance of reading really shined.

Murder on the Orient Express is released in US theaters today. I just started reading Agatha Christie and I am just discovering what a wonderful and amazing writer she is. She is the master at misdirection and providing surprising twists. No wonder she is called “The Queen of Mystery”.
So, in honor of the release of the movie, here is a list of my favorite Christie novels or short stories (so far). New to Christie? Pick one of these and you’ll fall in love with her books as well.
