The New Age of Sexism: How The AI Revolution Is Reinventing Misogyny by Laura Bates

A book that every word needs to be read. Laura Bates presents an alarming yet necessary exposé into society’s reliance on and increased usage of AI. There were things that I was already aware of, but as always with Bates’s writing, my mind was opened to issues that I hadn’t considered. An informative and well-researched book that everyone should read.

In Open Contempt: Confronting White Supremacy in Art and Public Space by Irvin Weathersby Jr.

I knew it was going to be interesting, but didn’t think I would like it as much as I do right now. With this thought-provoking read, we are urged to take a second look at the art and public spaces that have become deeply embedded in our history. It encourages readers to take a deeper glance at what may cause us trauma, while also providing an opportunity to learn more for a better future generation. Both dynamic and challenging, a book that everyone should read right now.

Family Force V: Book 1 by Matt Braly and Ainsworth Lin

With this comic book debut, it brought joyous memories of watching children’s TV shows like Power Rangers. This is more than a teen superhero comic book story; it is a story centred around a teenager who has to deal with the burdens of being a superhero but also wants to be a typical teenager. You will laugh, cry, and be on adrenaline high when you read this exciting, action-packed comic book, which can only lead to more exciting stories. Perfect for tween and teen readers.

Transformers: Worst Bot Ever: Meet Ballpoint by Brain “Smitty Smith and Marz Jr.

The worst Transformer ever has a heart of gold! We are introduced to the newest Decepticon, Ballpoint, and he is determined to help the other Decepticons, even if he continuously fails at it. This humorous comic is not only full of heart and action, but determination, proving that sometimes you must keep failing to discover where you truly belong. Fans of the franchise will find enjoyment in this short read.

Pizza Witch by Sarah Graley and Stef Purenins

Pizza and witchcraft—two of my favorite things! I had such a fun time reading this magical adventure, although you have no idea which path either the main protagonist, Roxy, or the reader will embark on. It is an enjoyable coming-of-age story, but it is light and fun to read, and sometimes, that is what your bookshelf needs when the world is topsy-turvy. Roxy also has a cat companion who will immediately become your favorite!
