This Book Kills has been nominated for many awards, including the 2024 YA Book Prize and The Diverse Book Awards. Book Synopsis
She wrote the perfect murder. One of her classmates carried it out. Now she’s next.
A compelling murder mystery set against the backdrop of an elite, isolated boarding school. Introverted scholarship student Jess writes a short story in which a man’s body is found in the woods—his head bashed in with a trophy from the trophy case. Next to the victim are twigs spelling out “HELP ME”. Days after turning in her paper, the most popular boy at school—Hugh Henry Van Boren, is murdered in the exact same way as the character in her story—a story she shared with no one.

A born and bred Londoner, Ravena Guron writes MG and YA, usually featuring antiheroines or snarky narrators. She is a lawyer with a degree in biochemistry and hopes to use the knowledge gained from her experiences to plot her books, whether that’s wild MG fantasy adventures, or twisty YA murder-mysteries.
