Are you looking to do something this weekend but are tired of watching Netflix or Disney Plus? Why not try something different and binge a book series instead of a TV show? If you are looking to get hooked onto a book series instead of a TV series, here are some exciting and fascinating series recommendations that will leave readers wondering where their weekend has gone when they reach the last page:

Me Before You Trilogy by Jojo Moyes
Jojo Moyes has the gift of storytelling and to transport readers to another world. That’s why the Me Before You trilogy is the perfect series to binge. You will fall in love with Louisa Clark and the journey she embarks on discovering who she is and the opportunities that lay before her. That makes for great reading in one sitting.
Moyes wrote a short story featuring Louisa Clark last year, which you can find here.

A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy) by Deborah Harkness
Read the Harry Potter Series in one sitting and want to try fantasy series that is more grown-up? The All Souls Trilogy is just for you! Filled with action, fantasy adventure and passionate romance, you will be so engrossed in the story that you can’t believe that you reached the end of the third book.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Series by Holly Jackson
I cannot talk about this series without a big huge smile appearing on my face! Jackson has created both a thrilling and compelling mystery series that may have been targeted for young adult readers but in fact, it can be read by readers of all ages. It is by far one of the best mysteries I have ever read and you will have a hard time just stopping at one.

Goldie Vance Series by Hope Larson and Brittany Williams
Meet Nancy Drew for the 21st century generation! Goldie Vance is full of spunk and curiosity that will engage readers. Her tenacity is what keeps this amazing story going and although the series transferred from graphic novels to middle-grade prose books, Goldie Vance will continue to live on as one of those unputdownable book.

Heartstopper Series by Alice Oseman
Speaking of another series that is unputdownable and putting a big smile on my face, Heartstopper really lives up to its title. I really got through the pandemic while reading this. Its heartwarming and sweet storytelling was just the uplifting story that I needed and the touching romance that readers look for in their books. You can’t stop at one with this budding romance!

A Great and Terrible Beauty Series by Libba Bray
I loved reading this series when I was a teenager, and I love to share it with readers this time around. If you are a fan of Harry Potter and looking for a fantasy series with a strong, female protagonist, then this is the book series for you! Bray always brings fantasy and adventure in her books, but the trilogy is one of my personal favorites. Gemma Doyle witchcraft journey is both enchanting and engaging that although there are heavy books, you will find yourself at the end of the book so quickly.

Noughts and Crosses Series by Malorie Blackman
Callum is a nought: pale-skinned and poor, he’s considered to be less than nothing, there to serve Crosses, but he dreams of a better life.
They’ve been friends since they were children, and they both know that’s as far as it can ever go. Noughts and Crosses are fated to be bitter enemies–love is out of the question.
Then–in spite of a world that is fiercely against them–these star-crossed lovers choose each other.
But it comes at a price and as they prepare to protect themselves and their love, they realize that the cost will lead both of them into terrible danger…and will have shocking repercussions for generations to come. (Credit: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers)

Anything by John Allison
It is hard to pick one John Allison series because everything he writes is just absolutely a joy and treat to read. If you are unsure which one to start with, I recommend the award-winning and bestselling series, Giant Days. This series entertained me through lockdown and it just makes you forget the outside world for a few hours. But like I said, Allison’s wit, humour and vibrant illustrations will make his books an entertaining read for any single day or weekend.

Inspector Anjelica Henley Series by Nadine Matheson
If you are a mystery fan and are looking for a mystery series that you will be engrossed in and you can’t get enough of, then Matheson’s Inspector Anjelica Henley’s series is just the ticket. Henley is by far one of the best detectives out there, due to the fact that is Henley not only an amazing detective but she is realistic and relatable and that is something I like to see when I read detective stories.

The Shadow Skye Trilogy by Joseph Elliott
The series that made return to read fantasy books again! I absolutely LOVE this series! And once you start reading, you will fall in love with the characters, the setting…just love everything about it! Think Game of Thrones but for children and teens. Elliott has created a wonderful world and compelling characters that will stay with you at the end of the third book.

The Ferryman Trilogy by Claire McFall
Another underrated fantasy series that needs more eyes on it. For readers who are fans of the romantasy genre, the Ferryman Trilogy series will be right up your alley. Either a rainy day or a long holiday weekend, the love story of Dylan and Tristan will warm your heart but at the same time gut wrench your soul. Readers who are looking to try out a new author should give this series by Claire McFall a try.
