May is another one of my favorite months. Not only the weather starts turning into that comfortable weather that makes it ideal for walks and sitting in the park. But May is also a great time to start making your reading list for the summer! Asian & Asian American Voices: Great Reads to Celebrate the Heritage

Reading about different cultures other than our own is a great way to not only educate ourselves but creates empathy and understanding in our daily lives. Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month is honored in May and Asian & Asian American voices are always important to highlight but it is needed now more than ever due to discrimination and racism that is targeted towards this ethnicity recently.

So #StandUpForAAPI by learning in the best possible way…through amazing reads that highlight powerful Asian voices and I picked some great books that will be enjoyed by readers of all ages (but I also made sure to divide it to three different age groups). The Heart of the Matter

I am not good at talking about politics or current events. Just because I have been silent on social media about what is going on, does not mean that I am not aware that I do not care about what is going on. My heart broke when I saw that video. My soul was in despair when another minority was lost to police brutality.
