Happy World Book Day!

April 23 is World Book and Copyright Day, an annual world celebration promoting the love and enjoyment of books and reading. We need the celebration and joy books to bring to people now more than ever, especially with the constant book banning and censorship occurring worldwide. So in honor of World Book Day and the continued efforts of championing literacy, here are some great quotes explaining the great importance of books and the joys of reading:

I was born and raised in New York. I still live in New York but kind of sick of the city and one day I wish to move to the UK.I have a Masters degree in Library Science and I currently work in a special collections library. I loved books ever since I was a little girl. Through the hard times in my life, my love for books has always gotten me through. Just entering another world different from my own intrigues me. As long as I am entering in another universe, I like to create my own as well. I love to write and hopefully I will be able to complete a novel.

  1. #8 reminded me of Theodore Roosevelt. TR took books with him everywhere and was a great reader. On an expedition in the Amazon, when they had to cut baggage to the bone, he still kept one or two books, carried them in his pocket.
