Happy World Book Day!

Happy World Book Day!

World Book Day is a heavily promoted book celebration in the UK and Ireland. Designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, this celebration is immersed with activities that are extensive and very exciting, all in for the love of books and reading. Encouraging young children to dress up as their favorite characters, discount vouchers to use on books, and contests and competitions are just the many activities that surround this amazing event.

World Book Day 2021 is a lot different from past years but although children may not be able to celebrate with their classmates or some bookstores are closed so families are unable to celebrate properly. However, World Book Day can be celebrated at home and the charity running this great day has great activities and online events that can help you celebrate in the comfort (and safety) of your home. Check out the their YouTube channel to see what videos you can watch for FREE!

The website is full of many activities that will keep you entertained not only for today, but all year! Make sure to check the website for some exciting things to do together as a family!

Thanks to National Book Tokens andbook publishers and booksellers, World Book Day, in partnership with schools all over the UK & Ireland, distribute over 15 million £1/€1.50 World Book Day book tokens to children and young people (that’s almost one for every child/young person under 18 in the UK and Ireland) every year on World Book Day. Check out the full list here!
