Welcome to Friday Debate, a feature on cup of tea with that book, please, where every Friday a question will be posted that tantalize the brain and expands our horizons. For this week’s question:
For this week’s Friday Deabte, we are going to do something different. Instead of me asking you a discussion question that has one or two possible answers. I will ask you a question that doesn’t have a wrong answer. So on this International Women’s Day, I asking you:
What female figure has inspired you?
Now this woman can be related to you, a historical figure, a notable woman who is still alive, even a fictional character. Let’s honor the women who have brought inspiration to our lives. I will start with mine.
My mom is always the main person who inspires me. She is my strength, my rock and I can count on her whenever I need her. She has always been there for me during the good times and of course, during the bad. Her strength, endurance and perseverance is what made me into the strong black woman that is writing to you today.
But I don’t want to forget the other female figures in my life:
I am so thankful and grateful for my aunts and my grandmother that helped me become…well, me.
