How do you stop a murder that’s already happened?

At a gala party thrown by her parents, Evelyn Hardcastle will be killed–again. She’s been murdered hundreds of times, and each day, Aiden Bishop is too late to save her. Doomed to repeat the same day over and over, Aiden’s only escape is to solve Evelyn Hardcastle’s murder and conquer the shadows of an enemy he struggles to even comprehend–but nothing and no one are quite what they seem.

Deeply atmospheric and ingeniously plotted, The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is a highly original debut that will appeal to fans of Kate Atkinson and Agatha Christie.

Contemporary mysteries are always a hit and miss with me. I always end up hating what I am reading towards the end. However, I heard so many good things about this latest mystery that I just had to give this one a try. And I am so glad that I did.

Think of your favorite Agatha Christie novel and the movie Inception. Now, combine them together. You may think that this is an odd combination but, with this book, it definitely works. This book was just so amazing. I could not put it down! Like I said before, I don’t read a lot of modern mystery authors. I believe their stories ooze with predictability and a generic writing style, so I tend to stay away from them and gear towards historical writers. However, Stuart Turton helped me restore my faith in modern mystery writing.

Turton created a literary world that is so intricate and beautifully detailed that I am still trying to wrap my head around it. The puzzles, the clues…I couldn’t figure any of it out and I loved every minute of it. I was shocked at every outcome and surprised at each twist and turn that was thrown my way. This is what I want from mysteries. I want to be surprised. I want the outcome and the solution to be totally unexpected. The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle will do just that. It may not be your run of a mill mystery, but that should be an incentive to read it.

A mind-bending story with amazing writing style, The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is a story that will literally have you on the edge of your seat. Lovers of mystery, Agatha Christie and sci-fi lovers a like need to discover why this is one of my favorite reads of this year.

I was born and raised in New York. I still live in New York but kind of sick of the city and one day I wish to move to the UK.I have a Masters degree in Library Science and I currently work in a special collections library. I loved books ever since I was a little girl. Through the hard times in my life, my love for books has always gotten me through. Just entering another world different from my own intrigues me. As long as I am entering in another universe, I like to create my own as well. I love to write and hopefully I will be able to complete a novel.
