20th Century Fox released the trailer for the upcoming adaptation of the critically acclaimed bestseller, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.
The synopsis from 20th Century Fox:
Starr Carter is constantly switching between two worlds: the poor, mostly black, neighborhood where she lives and the rich, mostly white, prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Now, facing pressures from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right.”
The film stars Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, Russell Hornsby, Common and Anthony Mackie. The film will be released on October 19.
This is one of my favorite YA books so I definitely cannot wait when this movie comes out! The trailer looks really good so here’s hoping the movie does the book justice.
