Welcome to Friday Debate, a feature on cup of tea with that book, please, where every Friday a question will be posted that tantalize the brain and expands our horizons. For this week’s question:
Barnes & Noble has been in the news lately due to the publication of an editorial about saving the book chain.
Literary communities from big to small will feel the effects if Barnes & Nobles close their doors. I haven’t shopped at Barnes & Noble in years. So, if they did closed, it would have little effect on me. But I know, for most, Barnes & Noble serves as their one and only place to buy books. However, the stores’s troubles are surely increasing and making everyone concerned. This possible outcome has led me to ask these two questions this week:

I really appreciate this post. I hadn’t seen those related articles and, as a former BN Receiving Manager who “got out early” it’s really interesting to see the poor decisions the company is making. Thanks for the food for thought. 🙂
I used to have a small used book store close to my house but it closed 😦 I usually order my books online, but if I don’t want to wait for it to ship or if I am bored I got to Barnes and Noble. I would be sad if Barnes and Noble closed but it probably wouldn’t effect me all that much.
