Round up the suspects and gather all the clues…it is time to celebrate Mystery & Thriller Week on Goodreads! Not only do I love watching mysteries, I love reading them. I always love the puzzles that authors lay out for me and I enjoy trying to figure it out for myself. It is such a fun brain teaser! So to join in this celebration, I am listing some of my favorite mystery novels. Dive into these heart-pounding and spine tingling stories and discover why it is most book lovers’ favorite genre:
You Belong To Me by Mary Higgins Clark
This was the first mystery I ever read, which made me fall in love with the entire genre. Mary Higgins Clark is such a talented writer. If you haven’t read anything by her, I suggest you do so!
Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
I finished this book in two days! I was literally on the edge of my seat, trying to figure what was going to happen next. If you love that type of feeling, then this is the book for you!
The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton
My favorite Kate Morton novel to date. The Secret Keeper is not a “whodunit” mystery. This great story is more of trying to uncovering a secret. A combination of a history and mystery is such a great combination!
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
I absolutely loved this one! Rebecca is full of intrigue and (unromantic) suspense. One of my favorite classic mysteries. Although it is up for debate, the ending will surprise you.
The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
Dive into a creepy and the suspenseful world of the legendary detective, Sherlock Holmes. You have a combination of horror and mystery with great storytelling. You never look at the moors the same way again!
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
The best Agatha Christie novel! If you are a lover of thrillers and stories that send a chill down a spine, this is the book for you. Anytime someone wants to start reading Agatha Christie, I always suggest they start with this book.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Such an epic thriller that other mysteries that came after tried to follow the same formula. Gillian Flynn really made thriller exciting and enticing to read with this suspenseful novel.
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
A book where the ending that took me completely by surprise. Not her best novel, but still a must read by the Queen of Mystery.
The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
This one might be a long book but it is a great mystery to dive right into. The surprises and the twists that you will encounter will haunt you.
The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
I just received this in the mail and I can’t wait to read it! I have heard so many good things and it sounds like it is going to be really great thriller!
