This was a very quick and enjoyable read. This book is all about promises, promises about the past, promises about the future. And it was just beautifully well done.

What I really loved about this book is that it wasn’t cheesy compared to other romantic novels. Even through this short duration, you really get to know the characters, who I absolutely loved. It was so great getting to know both Annabelle and Dan as characters. They were very interesting and greatly depicted. As the reader, you can see the great connection that they had with one another. Tullett didn’t go with the customary “love-hate” relationship. Both characters were going through a tragic time together and their relationship progressed at a natural pace. Their relationship and the book as a whole wasn’t cliche and I think that is what made the book more real to me. This story reminded me of Jojo Moyes’s writing which is probably why I enjoyed this book so much. Some say that we should have probably received an in-depth look into Annabelle and Tom’s relationship but I think we received an ample amount. Annabelle’s journey is not for her to hold onto the past so getting details about their relationship maybe doing just that.

If you are looking for a quick novel to breeze thorough, then this charming, funny novel is just the novel for you. You’ll be smiling all throughout the novel-with a couple sniffles and tears along the way.
