Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme is:
Top Ten Books I’d Love To See As Movies/TV Shows”
I am not a big fan of movie/TV adaptations. They always manage to change so many things that you’ll definitely won’t be receptive to and in return, ruining your favorite book. However, for the sake of this meme, I can compile a list that I feel, maybe wouldn’t be done exactly right but will be done properly:
1. Size 12 Is Not Fat Series by Meg Cabot Heather Wells is a unique and interesting type of heroine and I think we need to see her representation on the screen.
2. A Great and Terrible Beauty Series by Libba Bray I think it is time for a female version of Harry Potter, don’t you?
3. Sanditon by Jane Austen Yes it is incomplete but so was Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell and the manage to do a great adaptation out of that.
4. Evelina by Frances Burney Give the filmmakers a challenge…adapt a novel that is only told through letters.
5. Heist Society Series by Ally Carter This has been development hell far too long and we need an action packed movie or TV show with a female headliner.
6. Blue is for Nightmares Series by Laurie Faria Stolarz Again a female version of Harry Potter.
7. All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness I think a movie is in the works but who knows how long that will take.
7. Longbourn by Jo Baker We have so many adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, I think we need one told from the servants point of view.
8. The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot I surprised that an adaptation wasn’t created for this series already.
9. The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde I don’t know if a movie is in the works but for this one it is long overdue. A chance to jump in your favorite book? A book lovers dream.
10. Lives of Our Own by Lorri Hewett With race tensions so high in this country, this is a type of movie that needs to be done.
You can see that I picked a lot of books with strong independent females as the main character because I feel that is strongly lacking in the entertainment industry. What books would you like to see to be made in movies or TV shows?
Discover more from cup of tea with that book, please

I haven’t read any of these books (although Longbourn and The Eyre Affair are on my TBR list), but they all sound amazing. I’m always looking for books with strong female characters, so thanks for posting!

The Blue is For Nightmares series would make such a good tv show thriller.
When I was reading it, I pictured it that way.
Great list! Now that I think of it, Heather Wells WOULD make a great movie/TV show! 🙂 And I’m surprised there hasn’t been an adaptation for the Mediator series as well, it was so good! <3
