Karen White has a gift of combining great description of scenery and amazing storytelling, all into one, making another winner for Karen White. I have read most of her books and not one of them disappointed me. The Sound of Glass is another one to add to the list. White’s realistic storytelling is a lot similar to the writing style of Jojo Moyes so sometimes I consider Karen White as the Southern American version of Jojo Moyes.

From the very beginning, this novel drawn me in. I could not put it down. It has everything you can possibly look for in a book. Mystery, family relationships, personal turmoil, love…the perfect combination. Through White’s storytelling, you are bound to have a deep connection with the characters and White did not disappoint in this narrative.What I loved about this book is the realistic characters that are portrayed. You can feel the heart-wrenching emotion, the determination and the endurance that I love seeing in main characters.

This novel is more than just “chick lit”. In fact, I would have a hard time even classifying it as chick lit. Yes, there is a love story mixed in but it is not the central focus of the novel. Overcoming and facing your demons, not letting it define you, there is always light at the end of the darkest tunnel I believe are the overwhelming themes in this novel. Since most people, including myself, have let the past define them so that is why I found this book to be very relatable.

If you are looking for a well-rounded, thought-provoking, emotional book, look no further than this recent release of Karen White. White has once again manage to capture the human emotion perfectly yet again. I feel readers will not be disappointed with this one.
