Day 6: Mainstreaming Music

747(2014)

My views on mainstream music are followed by just one statement: listen to what you like. Some are good, some are bad. But music, like art, have always been opinionated.

My personal taste in music would appear odd to most people. I’m black but the only R&B/Soul music I listen to is the classic ones. If something sounds good to me I’ll listen to it. But mostly, I’ll listen to country (my cousin teases me about this all the time) and pop music. If I had to list my favorite artists, it would be Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Lady Antebellum.

I don’t think anyone really has opinions on mainstream music. With the internet, people can listen to whatever they want. Music is accessible now. But like Lizzy@lizzyreadsbooks says there are more important things to get worked up over.

I was born and raised in New York. I still live in New York but kind of sick of the city and one day I wish to move to the UK.I have a Masters degree in Library Science and I currently work in a special collections library. I loved books ever since I was a little girl. Through the hard times in my life, my love for books has always gotten me through. Just entering another world different from my own intrigues me. As long as I am entering in another universe, I like to create my own as well. I love to write and hopefully I will be able to complete a novel.
